DV-III+ Digital Rheometer

The Versatility To Handle Tough Rheological Analysis

Why a Rheometer - A Rheometer measures and analyzes minute as well as broad changes in a material's rheological structure - the way fluids and semi-solid materials flow. This is accomplished by varying shear rates in micro increments. The DV-III+ is Brookfield's most advanced instrument for measuring and analyzing rheological change by providing rotational speeds from 0.01 rpm to 250 rpm. This equates to shear rates of 0.002 1/sec to 1874 1/sec depending on geometry.

Why the DV-III+ Rheometer - When you need to do more than single point tests… When you need to predict what a material will do under variable shear rate conditions… When you want to analyze rheological behaviour over time or multiple temperature changes, you need a versatile, sophisticated and reasonbly priced viscosity testing tool. You need the Brookfield DV-III+ Rheometer!

  • Stand Alone Operation: The DV-III+ can run in a programmable "stand alone" mode or under direct PC control (using our optional Rheocalc® software). Tests that require multiple data points can be run and the data acquired, stored, displayed or printed with minimal operator involvement.
  • User-Friendly Display and Keypad: An easy-to-read gas plasma display and intuitive tactile keys lead operators through test programs by providing visual guides for selecting geometry, rpm (speed), viscosity, temperature, shear rate, shear stress, % torque, and print & alarm status; CGS or SI units.
  • Built-in Microprocessor: Runs up to 10 complex test programs set from the DV-III+ keypad or downloaded from a PC using Brookfield Rheoloader software (included with rheometer). Test data can be output directly to a printer in real time, viewed on the display, or stored in memory and downloaded to a PC later.
  • 2600 Speeds at a Touch: From 0.01 through 250 rpm in steps as small as 0.01 rpm.
  • Temperature Monitoring & Control: The DV-III+ is supplied with an accurate RTD probe for monitoring sample temperature. Optional remote probes/controllers are available that provide temperature status/control of certain Brookfield accessories.
  • Serial and Parallel Ports: The DV-III+ has a parallel port to connect a printer and a serial port to connect a printer, PC, or support optional Brookfield Programmable Temperature Controllers for use with the Thermosel® or Temperature Bath accessories.
  • Built-in Math Models: Models provide data analysis without the use of external software. Casson Yield Values, NCA/CMA Casson (Chocolate), Power Law, Bingham Plastic and IPC Paste Analysis calculations are included.
  • Compatible with all Brookfield accessories
  • NIST traceable viscosity standards available
  • Traditional Brookfield accuracy: ±1.0% of range, reproducibility: ±0.2%

LV, RV, HA, and HA torque ranges available.
